Forget me not
about
The Zidane fanlisting and tribute was established in September 2005 by Stacey Anne (me). It is powered by fanlisting script Enthusiast 3 and designed using Adobe Photoshop and Dreamweaver CS3.
history
I used to run a tribute to Zidane and Dagger called Forget Me Not. It was awful, rushed, and I like to pretend it didn't exist. ...Though that's not to say I still don't miss it a bit. I love Zidane and Dagger -- together and as individuals -- and I really want to show them a little love, especially since Final Fantasy IX has been written out of the Final Fantasy fandom for reasons I will never understand. The characters might not be as "pretty" as those from the installments before and after it -- despite the slight graphical upgrade from FFVIII -- and it might not play like an addictive, interactive soap opera, but dammit, it has more character and genuine heart than VIII and X put together.
Towards the end of August in 2005, I applied for the Zidane fanlisting over at The Fanlistings Network, and on September 7th, 2005, the approval e-mail was waiting for me in my inbox. That was enough to get the ball rolling, and I finally started construction on reviving my silly little shrine.
After tearing my hair out in search of a title, I decided that I really liked the name Forget Me Not and that I would keep it. The name was initially chosen with Zidane and Dagger's separation in mind, as well as the faith they had in each other during this period before the game's finale. Although the site's focus has shifted to Zidane rather than the pair, I still feel that the name is appropriate for similar reasons. No one who meets Zidane can forget him, and that's just the way he likes it.
